Help Authoring
Full overhaul of Help for AirCheck Australia, and updates to Media Monitors. GSelector has a slew of terrific new features as version 3.11 is released to the QA teams.
Consultancy
Some new ideas seem to be surfacing at Rhubarb Radio, one of Birmingham’s Internet Radio stations. More when they coalesce.
Top Secret
Again, I wish I could say more, but this is still under wraps. But: more discussions, all positive, and the project moves forward.2009-02-28T09:25:01+00:00January 2009

Help Authoring
At RCS UK headquarters for an overhaul of Help for Master Control Splits. Turned in helpfiles for AirCheck India, updated the helpfile for the flagship, Media Monitors - another program which goes from strength to strength.
Media Courses
Worked with the talented students at Birmingham City University and Staffordshire University.
The Hot New Project
Drafted a revised proposal after detailed feedback from partners at the mothership. But I still can’t say what the project is going to do. Not yet.2009-01-31T13:16:00+00:00December 2008

Software
Work on the first cut of GSelector 3.11, the new MC Editor tool and Media Monitors.
Consultancy
Another two days at the excellent Coast 106 in Southampton, working with their small but hugely talented staff. This is a new format for the UK, and I wish them all success. It’s a tough time to be building a new radio brand.
The hot new project
Slow but satisfactory progress. Detailed feedback from the mothership after my second draft proposal. And encouraging response from potential funding sources. But I can’t say any more for the moment.2008-12-31T09:03:00+00:00October 2007

Consultancy
I’m delighted to be able to report that most of the the UTV stations I consulted earlier in the year have seen, overall, an overall increase in reach, hours, or both, in the Summer/Early Autumn Rajar figures!
Podcasting
Nothing this month - I had a hard disk crash which ate up ridiculous amounts of time. The most recent four are now always available at itunes and feedburner.
Help Authoring
Another visit to RCS NY for work with a counterpart Help Author who documents NexGen, a playout system new to the RCS family. We worked on a joint document of immense complexity and exhaustive thoroughness, detailing the integration between ‘my’ scheduler and ‘her’ sequencer. It was a great pleasure. Then a solid week crafting fresh Help documents for Media Monitors: three new products.2007-10-31T12:46:00+00:00September 2007

Video
Update Media Monitors video. Revise intro topic for GSelector video.
Radio
One consult/training trip for UTV Radio in Bradford.
Podcasting
The Radio To Go Podcast is at itunes and feedburner.
This is a side project and labour of love. Generally, four editions are available at any time. This month’s is a special on Gigbeth, which takes place in November; the most adventurous yet in musical terms, to reflect the festival.
Documentation
More work in RCS GSelector: version 3.6.0 is in full beta test mode, with lots of new features - so I’ve been busy revising help, testing integration with the NexGen playout system, and co-authoring a document on this new area with a help author seven time zones away.2007-10-05T09:19:00+00:00August 2007
